Description: Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy has been designed as an advanced qualification, enabling Beauty Therapists to perform services on the body and face of your clients including manicures, pedicures, acrylic and gel nail enhancements, waxing, make up, ear piercing, cosmetic tanning, facial treatments, body massage, as well as providing advice on and selling retail skin care and cosmetic products.
Entry requirements: There are no entry requirements to this qualification.
Once complete you will be able to provide beauty therapy services including:

- Pedicures
- Acrylic Nails Enhancements
- Gel Nails Enhancements
- Waxing services
- Eyelash and Brow Treatments
- Cosmetic tanning
- Ear Piercing
- Makeup services including bridal look
- Facial treatments
- Body massage
Duration: 36 weeks
This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship pathway.
Delivery & Assessment Context: Training and assessment is conducted both in a friendly classroom setting and a real salon environment. Training might include but is not limited to practical workshop, written work, group discussion, debate and practical work on clients. It is the practice on real clients that will make the student’s learning experience unique. This not only gives the necessary confidence in a variety of situations, but also will give the possibility to apply, in a practical way, what has been taught in class.
Work placement: As a mandatory part of this course, you will need to participate in workplace training.
At the end of the course, you are required to seek work placement for two weeks in a salon of your choice. However the partnership between Melbourne Institute of Nails & Beauty and Odyssey Nails Hair & Beauty, Odyssey Nails, Hollywood nails, Diamond Nails, Le Nails and Nails r Us will allow you to undertake work placement in one of our salons.
