Students Salon

At Melbourne Institute of Nails & Beauty we are happy to receive clients.

You will be able to access the best Nails, Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing services for a fraction of the price that you would pay in a salon. The prices of treatments are incredibly low, so it's an ideal venue to treat yourself regularly. Please keep reading the pages in this section to find out more.

All treatments are supervised by teaching and assessing staff.

Be advised that the technicians, beauty therapist or hairdresser are all trainee or graduate students. Graduate students are also servicing clients at Odyssey Nails Hair & Beauty in Docklands as well as, from time to time in our entire salon around Victoria. [find the contacts here] You might need to call the individual salon to verify whether students have been sent there for their final work experience.

Policy

Students cannot receive at any time as they cannot be disturbed in their learning process. So we do not accept walking at the Institute differently from the salon. Services are only granted upon availability of students.

If you have any concerns regarding the service being performed on you, please speak to the educator or salon and not the trainee. Our trainees accept instruction from their salon manager or their educator only – so please do not instruct them on how to carry out a service as this may conflict with the instructions given by college staff. While our trainees will always endeavour to do the best possible job – no service can be guaranteed. As you are requested to pay a discounted fee for the service you receive, please notify the teacher immediately if any problems occur.

However, we will endeavor to fix any problem, if possible, only after the student’s work has been assessed. We do not fix jobs after 24 hrs.

While the trainees are working on you, any conditions on your skin or nails which are useful in teaching them will be pointed out. In some cases, we may request your permission to show the entire class. Your co-operation would be greatly appreciated by both the trainees and educator.

Summer holiday

Please note the Institute and the salon won’t have any students on duty during summer holiday, generally from the week before Christmas to the second week on January included.

Terms & Conditions

• 24 hours notice is required for cancelations. Repeated cancelations may result in refusal of future requests.
• Please inform us at the time of booking if you have any medical condition / contra-indication which may affect or prevent your treatment i.e High Blood Pressure, Low Blood Pressure, Pregnancy, Heart Condition, Diabetes, Epilepsy, Cancer, Broken bones, Metal Pins/Plates, Thyroid Problems, Allergies, Varicose Veins, Anxiety Attacks, Asthma, Migraines, Prescribed Medication, Roaccutane/Retonol, AHA Peels, Recent Surgery, Skin Problems, Viruses, Autoimmune Disease or other 
• Children under the age of 16 are not allowed to be service by students.
• Clients wearing contact lenses will be asked to remove them for any facial or eye treatments. Unfortunately we cannot provide any containers to store the contact lenses during your appointment therefore please bring your own container.
• Your own lateness may result in your treatments being shortened.
• Please note we run an Equal Rights Policy. You will not be able to request a specific gender of therapist to carry out your treatment except for religious reasons
