Melbourne Institute of Nails & Beauty Equity Statement.

Melbourne Institute of Nails & Beauty  is committed to ensuring that equity is incorporated across all aspects of its development. In doing so it acknowledges and adopts the following:

  • MIONAB respects the rights, dignity and worth of every person and will treat everyone equally within the context of their engagement with Melbourne Institute of Nails & Beauty, regardless of age, ability, gender, race, ethnicity, religious belief, sexuality or social/economic status.
  •  MIONAB is committed to everyone having the right to enjoy their course in an environment free from threat of intimidation, harassment and abuse.
  • All staff members and students members have a responsibility to oppose discriminatory behaviour and promote equality of opportunity.
  • • MIONAB will deal with any incidence of discriminatory behaviour seriously, according to club disciplinary procedures.
  • Melbourne Institute of Nails & Beauty believes that comply with the principles of equity means facilitate the learning experience taking into consideration individuality of each student.
  • Competency based courses: but this does not mean we kick students out if they can achieve the level of competency we require. Every students learning path is different so that every student learning time is different
  • Competency for us means that every student must be able to work in a salon environment once the course is finished. That's why they are at school in the first place.
  • Opportunity for us means that everyone, regardless of age, ability, gender, race religious belief, sexual preference social or economic status have access to our programs and to our career paths. Everyone is send to one of our salon after completing the course and everyone has an opportunity to access employment in the limits of our availability.
  • Access generally refers to the ability to enter training. 
  • Equity is a term used to cover issues relating to access to VET, participation in VET, and achievement of outcomes in VET. Equity covers a wide range of matters including but not limited to, provide a supportive learning environment; adjusting assessments to meet individual circumstances; fee reduction and particular special plan for hardship situations.
