Operational Policy: Issuing Qualifications

General provisions

  1. Melbourne Institute of Nails & Beauty only issues and records AQF qualifications and Statements of Attainment that are within its scope of registration.
  2. All graduates who have completed a program of learning that leads to the award of an AQF qualification are entitled to receive the following certification documentation on award of the qualification:
    1. a testamur (certificate) of the qualification achieved;
    2. a record of results;
  3. Students who complete part of the requirements of an AQF qualification in which they are enrolled are entitled to receive a record of results.
  4. All the certificate, statement of attainment and non AQF testamur and records of results are issued in English.
  5. All qualifications and statements of attainment issue by the institute will comply with Australian Australia qualification Framework (current edition 1st July 2011)and according Qualification Framework (AQF) Implementation Handbook, (current edition 4th 2007).

Certificate

  1. The certificate for all AQF qualifications issued will identify the qualification as an AQF qualification by the words ‘The qualification is recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework’ These words are not used on certification for non-AQF qualifications.
  2. The Certificate will contain:
    1. Melbourne Institute of Nails & Beauty as issuing organisation
    2. Name and surname of the graduate who is entitled to receive the AQF qualification;
    3. The awarded AQF qualification by its full title;
    4. The date of issue;
    5. The NRT Logo;
    6. The student's id number issue by the Institute;
    7. Name of the education manager and HR manager authorized jointly to issue the qualification; and
    8. the photo of the person entitled to the certificate to avoid any fraudulent reproduction;
    9. the Toid number of the Institute;
  3. All the certificate are printed on special personalized stationary to avoid fraudulent reproduction. The stationary is changed on a regular basis.

Statement of attainment

  1. Melbourne Institute of Nails & Beauty issues Statement of attainment when an individual has completed one or more units of competency from nationally recognized qualification/s or course/s. There are three types of statement of attainment issued according to program type.
    1. Statement of attainment issued for partial completion of a regular (non skill-set) program: this is produced for students who are currently studying and have only partially completed a regular (non-skill set) program. It includes the units of competency achieved under nationally endorsed standards, or modules achieved under the nationally endorsed curriculum. Achievements recognized by statements of attainment accumulate towards a qualification within the Australian Qualifications Framework.
    2. the Institute skill set statement of attainment: This is produced for students who have completed a skill set that is MIONAB specific Training package skill set statement of attainment. This is produced for students who have completed a training package skill set.
  2. The statement of attainment will identify that it is only a partial qualification by the wording "This Statement of Attainment is recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework. A Statement of Attainment is issued by a Registered Training Organization when an individual has completed one or more units of competency from nationally recognised qualification(s)/course(s)".
  3. The statement of attainment will contain:
    1. Melbourne Institute of Nails & Beauty as issuing organisation;
    2. Name and surname of the person who is entitled to receive the statement of attainment;
    3. The units of competencies in which the person achieved competency;
    4. The AQF qualification by its full title in which the units of competency for part of;
    5. The date of issue;
    6. The NRT Logo;
    7. The student's id number issue by the Institute;
    8. Name of the education manager and HR manager authorised jointly to issue the qualification; and
    9. the photo of the person entitled to the certificate to avoid any fraudulent reproduction;
    10. the Toid number of the Institute;
  4. All the Statement of attainment are printed on special personalised stationary to avoid fraudulent reproduction. The stationary is changed on a regular basis. 

Non AQF qualification

  1. Melbourne Institute of Nail & Beauty might issue certificate in a non AQF qualification when the practice of a determined skill required by industry standard and individuated by consultation with the industry representative, is relevant and might add a competitive advantage for the student on the labor market.
    1. The non AQF testamur (certificate) will contain:
    2. The non AQF testamur (certificate) will contain: Melbourne Institute of Nails & Beauty as issuing organisation;
    3. Name and surname of the person who is entitled to receive the statement of attainment;
    4. The title of the qualification;
    5. The date of issue;
    6. Name of the education manager and HR manager authorised jointly to issue the qualification; and
    7. the photo of the person entitled to the certificate to avoid any fraudulent reproduction, unless they are qualification in a workshop (one to three day course).
    8. The student's id number issue by the Institute;
    9. the Toid number of the Institute;
  2. All the non AQTF qualifications are printed on special personalised stationary to avoid fraudulent reproduction. The stationary is changed on a regular basis.

Administrative provisions

  1. Once the student file is completed the administrator manager must:
  2. Check that all the relevant documents have been collected;
  3. Check that identity, residence, visa and relevant documents are duly executed and filed in the student’s file according to the enrolment form and any other student’s note;
  4. Check the identity against the Student management system;
  5. Check that all the evidence for the relevant qualification have been collected.
  6. All qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued in the name of Melbourne Institute of Nails & Beauty must be signed by the authorized signatory.
  7. All the qualification issued must be registered in the register. Students must sign when they collect their qualification or Statement of Attainment.
  8. Qualifications and statement of attainment are issue within 3 months from the day of conclusion of the course.
  9. Files must be kept in storage for 30 years.
  10. Electronic record must be baked up by JobReady Rto.

Re issuing a qualification document

  1. A client wanting to request a duplicate qualification or Statement of Attainment should complete the Application for the re-issue of a qualification or Statement of Attainment form and return to the Institute office.
  2. Prior to re-issue, all duplicate qualifications or Statements of Attainment must be approved by the Education Manager. Charge of $25.00 applies for certificate and for any transcript of results. This payment must be received before the duplicate qualification is issued.
  3. Duplicates are to be issued within 2 weeks from receipt of payment.
